IMN Build for Rent Panel: Financing Availability, Sources and Structures
Here are my top 3 take-aways from this panel, the IMN Build for Rent (BFR) forum and overall market:
1) The BFR asset class is benefitting from tremendous tail winds spurred by tenant demand, rising rents and availability of equity and debt capital.
2) Significant competition for homes between single family rental aggregators and home buyers for completed “rentable homes” is driving investor appetite for construction projects.
3) Build to rent market participants are universally concerned over rising construction costs, but projects continue to remain profitable due to rapidly rising rental rates.
Overall, it was a highly and productive conference with participants expressing great enthusiasm for the BFR asset class.
