Rocking Renovation: Charming NJ Colonial Two Story Transformation

Our rocking renovation spotlight shines on this complete transformation of a charming 3-bed, 2-bath, 1,200-square-foot, two-story colonial home in New Jersey. The renovation was executed by Wilkerson Property Group LLC, an investor that focuses on a fix and flip investment model and is a repeat borrower of CoreVest Finance for their New Jersey rental property loans. From unfinished and unkempt to chic and charming, this amazing renovation demonstrates the power of modern design and how much it can add to the property, both in value and appearance. Before the investors applied their magical renovation touch, the property had obvious wear and tear and was poorly maintained.

Some parts of the property were unfinished, with missing windows and doors. The exterior of the property also demonstrated this – with a half-finished, not-so-safe balcony and stairs. Moreover, the kitchen featured outdated fixtures and appliances, and the bathrooms showed antiquated design styles along with cabinets and fixtures that needed to be badly replaced.

With experience and expertise on their side, the investors were able to turn this property around into the charming home we now see. Starting with the upper floor, we see an immediate transformation as soon as you reach the top of the stairs. The cozy welcome area now features new flooring, fresh paint, and a new mahogany wood railing and stairwell with new lighting fixtures which connects the two floors on the interior.

The top floor bathroom saw an update to the shower with a mosaic tile and updated lighting fixtures and cabinets. The downstairs bathroom, once sporting a sky-blue design with missing fixtures, was completely transformed. A toilet and sink was added, a modern color palette was applied to the walls, and ceramic tile flooring helped finished out a beautiful new bathroom. The closet, once missing a purposeful layout, was transformed into a small mini bar with an adjacent door, clearly detailing the beginning of the closet.

The kitchen, which also sported the old sky-blue design, was transformed into a modern-day kitchen by changing up the wall colors with a gray subway tile splash which coordinated perfectly with the new white cabinets and marble counters. The investors added modern accents by including stainless steel appliances and a new kitchen sink.

Although the charming home was transformed inside and out, the most notable modern conversion is showcased on the exterior of the property. The backyard now features a tall, aesthetic wooden fence that creates a new private area for gathering.

The balcony, which was previously unfinished, now has outdoor carpet and wood side rails, adding to the new design elements of the property. To add to the curbside appeal, the investors added two small gardens at the entrance which does wonders for bringing the modern touch throughout the property. No longer shabby and unfinished, this warm and welcoming property was only on the market for one week before it became a happy home for its new buyer.
